Sacred Service Saturday
June 17, 2017
UVC Activity Center 9 am-2 pm
You are invited to join together for sacred service projects on June 17th and experience for yourself what can be achieved when we unite in a passionate sense of generosity of heart.
We will meet in the UVC CommUnity Center at 9AM for the continental breakfast kick off and registration. We will move into our community service and meet back at 2PM. Service projects include painting the Unity Village Labyrinth, art projects at the Hope House, light gardening for the Lees Summit Parks & Recreation, supporting the Lees Summit Social Service Thrift Store, helping the UVC Activities Center Sparkle again and
organizing the YFM Crafts area!
To all participants:
Projects are assigned on a first come/first gets-to-serve basis.
You are not considered to be “there in Spirit” unless you are “there in Body.” Spirit will be there in Spirit. If you sign up, please show up!!
Bring your lunch unless otherwise informed. If you bring your lunch, consider a “zero waste” approach. Bringing re-useable containers, utensils, cloth napkins etc, and leaving no trace behind, demonstrates our love for the planet and puts our practice into service.
Please plan for the whole day so everyone can share this expanded experience of service and community.
Please be on time in the morning and afternoon.
Please wear clothes you can get dirty and, for most projects, closed toed shoes.
Please be aware that projects, particularly clean-up projects, outdoor projects and those involving animals, may include encounters with insects, rodents, reptiles and other living beings.
Please be aware that all projects will include encounters with human beings.
