Sacred Service Saturday is about so much more than just volunteering...

it is about engaging together, joining hearts and hands for a day of international synchronous community service. Unity Village Chapel, Agape, The Association For Global New Thought and New Thought Centers around the world serve together for our local and worlwide communities serving for the joy of serving knowing that your Sacred Service Saturday experience makes a critical difference for you, the community and for our planet.

Adopt-A-Highway

When: 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Where: Along 350 hwy at Unity Village, meet in the Administration Parking Lot (SW Parking Lot)--then group will walk to highway

What: Cleaning up the roadside around Unity Village
Why: Are you ready to talk trash with fellow Village friends? Then you'll love this opportunity to beautify our stretch of Adopt-A-Highway! Disposing of littered waste, beautifying the area while while making a new friend or 10 - what a great way to Saturday!
Please Note: This opportunity requires a lot of walking, and is not accessible for those that need assistant devices for mobility. It will be outside for the entirety of the 2 hours, and volunteers will be exposed to the elements, which could include heat, humidity, sunshine, rain and/or wind. It is important to dress appropriately in clothing that can get dirty, including closed-toed shoes and long pants. Safety vests and trash bags will be provided, please bring gloves.

UVC Cleaning Party

When: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Where: UVC CommUnity Center, UVC Meeting Room, UVC Lounge & UVC Offices at Unity Village, meet in CommUnity Center

Why: Help refresh the UVC spaces to match the fun,vibrant community that they lovingly house.
What: Pitch in at any level of cleaning, surface refresh to deep rejuvenation. Projects include: wiping down tables/prep surfaces, carpet vacuuming/steaming, dusting, upholstery washing, window wiping, recycling bin dumping/scrubbing, cabinet organizing, paper shredding and any other messes you come across.
Please Note: Some cleaning supplies will be provided, but would be great if people could bring their own to pitch in including carpet and/or upholstery cleaning machine.

Hillcrest Thrift Store

When: 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

What: Putting your skills to work sorting, pricing and organizing clothing and housewares.
Why: Are you a super-sorter with a love of organization and a knack or categorization? Or maybe you're a super-shopper with an eye for finding great deals and treasures! All proceeds from the Hillcrest Thrift Store provide transitional housing and programs to help families find and maintain stable residences for their families. 95% of families who go through the Hillcrest program become self-supporting and self-reliant in 90 days!
Please Note: Meet at thrift store. You will not need special clothing or tools for this opportunity, just a can-do attitude! This location is wheelchair-accessible and there will be service projects for those of all ability ranges. This opportunity is for teenagers and adults 16 and older, please do not bring children to this event. There are no animals at this location.
