2016 Candidates for the Board of Trustees
There are three candidates to fill three vacancies for the 2016 Board of Trustees. Thank you for your willingness to serve and have an impact on the future of Unity Village Chapel. Certified members of Unity Village Chapel will have the opportunity to ratify these candidates at the Annual Meeting on March 20th. We want to thank Diane Wilks, who will be leaving the Board after serving two consecutive three year terms.
My true spiritual journey began four short years ago during Rev. Erinʼs Easter Sunday service. My love of UVC moved me to a deeper commitment: becoming a volunteer. I started volunteering on fund raising committees which led me to even bigger commitments: ministry teams. I serve as Team Lead on the Angel Ministry team, a member on the Welcome Committee and PowerPoint teams, and a volunteer at The Gardens of Unity.
My divine spirit nudged me to take the next step. During an annual meeting, where the criteria for becoming a board member was announced, an overwhelming excitement built up in me, guiding me to apply for a position on the Board. Today, as the Board Treasurer, I am excited for the opportunity to work alongside the other gifted and committed board members in creating a unique Sunday experience and a sustainable UVC.
As a member of Unity Village Chapel for 15 years, Drayton served on the Chapel Development Planning team, Board of Trustees (4 years), co-director of the Ministerial Search Committee, member of the Media and Communications Team. Drayton has attended a number of Adults of Unity Spiritual Retreats, Wise Men Retreats and various classes including the 4-T program and Rev. Erin’s Prosperity Class. In addition, he has been a facilitator for the Fall Program Enrichment Circles.
Drayton states “he understands the dynamics of board membership and working in an organizational structure.” I can bring positive and creative thinking to problem solving, visioning and planning. My desire is to work as a member of a team to assure that the Chapel is a relevant spiritual center for more and more people. One of my beliefs and guiding principles is that problems present opportunities and that opportunities spawn growth.
