Says Goodbye to Rev. Albert Wingate

Reverend Albert Wingate
Interim/Transitional Minister until June 5, 2011
On June 5, 2011, Diane Wilks, our current Board President, on behalf of the entire Unity
Village Chapel community, thanked Rev. Albert Wingate for his wonderful service and
assistance to us as our interim Lead Minister and in our search process for a new minister.
Rev. Albert returns to his home in Texas and may drop by for a visit as his schedule allows.
Rev. Albert, you will be missed!!!
Albert Wingate was ordained in 1983. He has served in Unity Churches in Houston,
Atlanta, and Naples. In 2005 after retirement from full time pulpit ministry Albert
began serving as interim/transitional minister. In that capacity he has served an
interim in Savannah, Arlington, TX, Tyler, TX and Unity Village. The work and study
that Albert has done with Lombard Mennonite Center for Peace and Justice has provided
him with the background, information and skills to serve in this unique role of ministry.
In addition to training with Lombard Albert has completed the Peace Worker’s training
offered through Unity and has assisted in facilitating Making Peace With Our Past weekends.
Albert is married and his wife Linda is keeping the home fires burning in Tyler, TX.
The most exciting thing to occur within the recent past is the birth of his first grandchild,
Tyler, who celebrated his first birthday on November 7.
Were you to ask Albert the central theme of his credo, you would invariably hear, “Life is meant
to be good.”
